User friendly scanning interface

If you haven't got a default scanning software loaded onto your machine, then take a look at VueScan, which simply and easily allows you to connect to your scanner in minutes.

The developers of VueScan claim that it's the world's most widely-used scanning software among photographers, home users and corporations. Although this would seem far fetched, it's certainly true that it must be popular simply by virtue of it's simplicity and ease of use for anyone not familiar with scanning software.

VueScan is highly flexible which is another great aspect of it - it doesn't matter if you change scanner as it still continues to support it whatever model it is. According to the developers, VueScan supports more than 400 scanners and 185 digital camera raw files so you won't find any incompatibility issues. Installation is lightning quick as it's such a light package and there's little waiting around - just open VueScan and you're ready to scan.

There's not much to it but in a way, that's the great thing about Vuescan - it doesn't bloat your system with unnecessary features or scanning options.

Works just great for me. First installed on windows 7, then through so-called "upgrade" to Windows 10 and still worked great. When I had a problem it was immediately resolved. Now I'm using it with a Linux system (and didn't have to pay again!)

FREE TRIAL STILL PUTS WATERMARKS THROUGHOUT THE SCAN. Unusable. Free trial has tiny watermarks a few millimeters apart that cover the whole document. What is the point of a free trial if I can't actually use the software to produce a file I can use? Swindles like this are the reason piracy exists.

Software saves me loads of time, and gives great results with Nikon scanner. I was able to make my new Macbook Pro work with my 12 year old Nikon scanner. In the time it took the Nikon software to make a preview on the old computer, I can have a full res scan. This software is fast, and efficient with lots of nice features like profiles for various types of color negative films I used in the 1990s. I also scanned in some Kodachromes from the 1940s, and they look like look great!

Mr Ed done great job for our company . Am sorry to tell but i totally disagreed with Mr. whoever it is above my comment , cos we purchased for our company in Moscow and Riga and Nicosia and all I can tell it is EXCELLENT work and perfectly done . Lack of communications , cos once we had some kind of issue and we found Mr Ed and contact him , after couple of minutes talking with Mr Ed , we sort out all till we been online .. Try talking more politely and will be better . Cheers

The definitive scanner software. I bought a professional version back in 2005 and its been updated continuously for more than a decade. In contrast to the barely usable software film scanner manufacturers packaged with their hardware, Vuescan is a monster, powering through huge stacks of slides and negatives. If you are serious about digitizing an analog photo collection you need Vuescan. Period. Do it soon, by the way, as prosumer film scanners are no longer being manufactured and the small number of existing ones are aging out (I use a Coolscan IV). Pros: Continuous updates for a decade with no cost (professional edition)Works with everything Cons: Big learning curve (nature of the beast)

Softonic

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
